The Multicrusher is an efficient, versatile grinder for processing solids in liquid media.

The design of these twin-shaft grinders has much in common with Börger's proven rotary lobe pumps. With 5 different sizes delivering up to 320 m3/h and a wide range of accessories, we can select a suitable Multicrusher for almost any duty.

The Multicrusher can process solids such as fibrous matter, wood, plastic, leather, textiles and much more. It homogenises the medium and makes it easier to pump.

Design and components

1 Quick-release cover The quick-release cover is the «gateway to the inside of the pump». It gives fast access to every part in contact with the medium.
2 Axial protection plate The inner, wetted part of the housing is fitted with an axial protection plate.
3 Cutter discs The cutter discs of the Multicrusher are designed so that reversing the direction of shaft rotation reverses the flow of the medium being processed. The degree of processing depends on the type and thickness of the cutter discs. Central fixing bolts hold the cutter discs in their working position.
4 Shaft seal Everything ideal is simple. The field-proven shaft seal can be replaced through the working chamber without dismantling the grinder completely. There is no need to disconnect the grinder from the pipework or remove the motor.
5 One-piece housing The grinder housing is a single part made of stainless steel or grey cast iron.
6 Cooling and leakage monitoring chamber The barrier fluid performs several functions at once in the intermediate chamber. It lubricates the seal, allows leakage to be monitored and isolates the drive from the grinder chamber.
7 Bearings and gearbox The bearings and gearbox are very robust and give this mechanism, supported on bearings on one side only, a long service life.

Operating principle

The Multicrusher is designed to process coarse media.

The Multicrusher was developed on the basis of Börger's proven rotary lobe pump. Instead of rotating lobes, intermeshing cutter discs are mounted on hexagonal shafts and held by a central bolt. Different peripheral speeds and different pairs of cutter discs deliver an excellent grinding effect. Thanks to the quick-release cover, the Multicrusher retains all the advantages of the MIP design.

Capacity up to 320 m³/h
Can be installed on either the suction or the discharge side of the pump

Advantages of the Börger Multicrusher

The excellent cutting action and the self-cleaning effect of the cutter plates come from the different rotational speeds of the shafts.

A wide choice of sizes, various combinations of cutter discs and an optimal speed make it possible to select a suitable grinder for almost any duty.

A range of corrosion-resistant materials allows the Multicrusher to be used even with seawater. The grinder's configuration depends entirely on the duty it has to perform. Depending on the customer's needs it can be mounted on a mobile unit or work together with a submersible pump. The Multicrusher is as versatile as the duties it performs.
