The Börger tanker-mounted pump is fixed pumping equipment installed directly on a vacuum, sludge or oil-collection tanker. It is used for two-way duty: vacuum loading of the tank at the pumping point and forced discharge at the disposal point. A solution for specialised vehicle fleets at municipal and oilfield service companies.
How two-way operation works
The Börger rotary lobe pump is reversible — the flow direction changes without re-routing the hoses. At the pick-up point the operator switches the unit to suction and the tank fills. At the discharge point it switches to delivery and the contents are forced out under pressure. One pump serves both phases of the trip, which cuts the capital cost of equipping the vehicle.

Where it is used
The main customers are operators of vacuum and sludge tankers, service divisions of oil and gas companies, and airport and port service fleets. In the municipal sector the pump is used to empty septic tanks and sewage manholes. In oilfield work — to collect well fluid and pit sludge for delivery to a treatment unit.
Advantages of an integrated installation
Unlike vacuum pumps, which are limited to a suction lift of about 8 metres and cannot cope with abrasive media, the Börger rotary lobe pump handles sand and silt without catastrophic wear. MIP technology allows the working parts to be replaced directly on the tanker in 30–60 minutes, without removing the pump from the vehicle. This reduces fleet downtime.
Selection and configuration
Selection depends on the tank volume, the nature of the effluent and how intensively the fleet is used. For extra protection against clogging we recommend installing a Börger grinder at the inlet. Alternative mobile solutions — trailer-mounted mobile units for work at remote sites.
