The Börger fire pump is a mobile or fixed pumping unit for fire protection and firefighting systems. It is used at industrial sites with their own fire safety systems, in the oil and gas sector, at tank farms and wherever water has to be drawn from open sources with a high level of contamination.
Features of the firefighting version
Unlike centrifugal fire pumps, the Börger rotary design is self-priming: the pump draws water from a river, pond or process reservoir without pre-filling or an ejector. That matters in emergencies, when set-up time is limited. Reversible operation lets the same unit pump the water away once the fire is out.
